Shipping & Delivery Policy — Choobox Inc.

At Choobox Inc., we specialize in delivering heavy-duty wooden crates, custom transport packaging, and industrial pallets safely and efficiently. This Shipping Policy outlines our processing timelines, freight methods, local pickup options, and international compliance standards.

1. Processing & Lead Times

  • Standard / In-Stock Products: Orders for standard-sized pallets or stocked packaging units are processed and dispatched within 1–3 business days.

  • Custom Packaging & Made-to-Order Builds: Custom-dimension crates, specialized export packaging, and high-volume orders are subject to production lead times. Estimated manufacturing times are provided upon quote approval (typically 3–7 business days).

  • Order Tracking: Once your shipment is dispatched, you will receive a shipping confirmation email containing your bill of lading (BOL) or freight tracking number.

2. Shipping Options & Freight Delivery

Due to the size, weight, and volume of our industrial products, Choobox Inc. offers tailored freight options across Canada and North America:

  • Local Ottawa & Regional Delivery: Local deliveries throughout the Greater Ottawa Area are fulfilled via specialized flatbed trucks or local box trucks.

  • LTL & FTL Freight Shipping: For orders shipped across Ontario, Quebec, or nationwide, we utilize Less-Than-Truckload (LTL) or Full-Truckload (FTL) commercial carriers.

  • Tailgate / Liftgate Service: Standard freight deliveries assume the delivery location has a commercial loading dock or forklift. If you require a tailgate/liftgate truck or residential freight delivery, please notify us at checkout so appropriate transport can be arranged (additional carrier fees may apply).

3. Warehouse Pickup (Free Service)

Customers and commercial logistics drivers can pick up orders directly from our manufacturing and distribution facility at no additional charge.

  • Facility Location: 5380 Canotek Rd, Suite 19 21, Ottawa, ON K1J 1H7

  • Pickup Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (EST)

  • Requirements: Please bring your order confirmation or invoice number. Standard commercial trucks, vans, or flatbed trailers are required for larger crate orders.

4. International Shipping & ISPM 15 Export Compliance

  • Cross-Border Shipping: We ship throughout Canada and to the United States.

  • ISPM 15 Certification: All heat-treated (HT) wooden crates and pallets destined for international export comply strictly with ISPM 15 standards and bear the official IPPC heat-treatment stamp to ensure smooth clearance through customs without pest inspection delays.

  • Customs, Duties & Taxes: For shipments across international borders (e.g., to the USA), the recipient or importer of record is responsible for all applicable brokerage fees, customs duties, and import taxes.

5. Freight Inspection & Delivery Damage

Heavy freight must be inspected thoroughly upon arrival:

  1. Inspect Cargo Before Signing: Check all crates, packaging, and pallets for external damage or missing units before signing the carrier’s Proof of Delivery (POD) or Bill of Lading.

  2. Note Damages: If damage is present, explicitly write "Damaged upon delivery" on the carrier's receipt before the driver leaves.

  3. Report to Choobox: Take clear photos of the damaged freight and send them to info@choobox.ca within 48 hours so we can initiate a freight claim and arrange a replacement.

6. Shipping Rates

Freight and shipping costs are calculated based on weight, dimensions, destination postal code, and required freight accessories (e.g., liftgate, residential delivery). Freight quotes are provided prior to order confirmation or automatically generated at checkout on www.choobox.ca.
